 When choosing right moving companies, get estimates from at least three companies. Three quotes will help you spot any red flags in the price, and the more quotes you get, the more detailed the estimate will be. Often you’ll hear terms like “ballpark estimate” and “cube sheet” used in talking about a move. First, you should understand the difference between these terms.

Be wary of non-binding estimates from movers. The price of an estimate is based on an estimated weight of your belongings, which may not be accurate. The actual weight will determine the final cost, so don’t trust low-ball estimates. Even if a moving company has a low estimate, they may not be reputable.
