Selecting a Removals Company – Track Records

The oldest moving company we know of is the Shore Porters Society in Aberdeen, Scotland. They were formed back in 1498 when James IV was King of Scotland and Henry VII on the throne in England.

Now not even we’re that old (though one or two of our team might run that a close thing!) and we’re also sure that there are older moving companies around too. The reason we mention it though is to stress an important point – a track record.

Maybe we should say ‘lineage’ given the example above but seriously, one of the first things to look for when selecting Christchurch movers, or removals companies anywhere else for that matter, is just how long they’ve been around.

On one hand, that’s a bit of a no-brainer. Clearly, if a company has been trading for many years then they’re obviously doing something right. However, it also relates to the collective experience they’ve gained over that period. As we’ve said before, you can’t buy experience or pick it up from a book.
